Calypso St. Barth Comes to Georgetown!

I had the wonderful opportunity Tuesday night to partake in DC's Fashion Group International launch event of the new Calpyso St. Barth boutique in Georgetown! This is the brand's first store in the mid-Atlantic. High-five DC! We're on the fashion map!

I had such a good time networking and drinking champagne with local DC bloggers, Fashion Group's DC members and chatting with the Calypso St. Barth team that flew in from all over the country to support their new store! I also got to spend time with my beautiful best friend, Leigh, who is a local DC wedding planner and special events manager for Polished by tu-anh. It's not every day that the two of us get to have a night out on the town together!

And the best part of the whole evening?! I came home with this beauty! Stop by the new Calypso St. Barth location in Georgetown soon and say hi to their lovely team! It's a great addition to the Georgetown boutique lineup.

Here are a few shots from the event!

Quite the crowd showed up for the event!
My bestie :-)
Lots of beautiful Valentine's Day goodies
Gorgeous accents for the home
Had to take an evening selfie ;-)
Their fragrance collection is lovely!
Took home this beautiful Moroccan Wedding Blanket!
Which do you like better - the blanket on the foot of the bed? or....
Folded on the accent chair?
Would love your input! xo

Pouffe!

It occurred to me yesterday while I was talking to my mom about some of the smaller details I was working on in our new bedroom, that a 'pouffe' might not be a standard household term. "What IS a pouffe exactly?" she inquired. Well, basically, it's versatile! It can be used as extra seating, as a footstool, a coffee table, beanbags for the kiddos, a decorative item to add dimension to any room or used as a pretty catch-all for your magazines and books. Whatever it's intended for, it's very useful. And gosh, so darn cute and stylish! I love how the earthy, casual-chic Moroccan style is incredibly influential in home decor right now. The invitation to take a seat on these little Moroccan poufs or on a beautiful Moroccan rug creates a cozy, relaxed feel for any guest.

I did a quick roundup of my favorite pouffes that I've stumbled across over the past month in my search for the perfect items to add to our bedroom. Their price point can range anywhere from $50 to $1,550. What's great is that no matter your budget, no matter how large or small your room may be...these little poufs are a great addition to any home! Starting from budget-friendly to more of an investment piece, here are a few of my favorite little guys:

Target: $49.99

Etsy: $89.99

Jonathan Adler for JC Penny: $95.99

ABC Home: $150

Wayfair: $152
West elm: $249

Ballard Designs: $249
Paleck: $1,089

Clayton Gray Home: $1,095

Bedroom Progress

Well life has been a little hectic lately. About the time our master bedroom remodel began, I departed for New Orleans on business. I'm actually quite glad I didn't have to live amongst the mess that was our home for about ten days! But man! This room has truly evolved. The Serena and Lily wallpaper truly is divine on the accent wall behind our new bed! And I'm really loving how nicely all the little details are coming together. Give me another week and I'll give you a full tour of the entire room. We're still waiting on the rug and bedside tables to be delivered next week. Then all should be complete! For now though, the room is truly taking shape!

Why so blue?

Lately, I've been spending an obsessive amount of time lurking the pages of interior design magazines and blogs for inspiration for our new bedroom! I have my color scheme down and I have my eye on the bigger accent pieces I plan on purchasing once I see our new furniture settled in our bedroom. When it comes to the accent pieces for our room, I can't help but get weak in the knees every time I see something navy and velvet. It's moody, luxurious, rich and mysterious all at the same time. You better believe our bedroom will have one or more of this beautiful colored fabric once I tackle the details!

Okay, maybe the Chanel bag is a stretch, but I know my closet would love it as a new addition ;-) Are you swooning yet over this luxurious trend?!

Detailing on a Dime!

Well, I'm excited! We just ordered our new bedroom furniture. After years of daydreaming of this moment, pinning every possibility, scheming the new floor layout and finally deciding on the specific pieces we thought would work best in our space, I am ready to tackle the details and get this show on the road! The big pieces arrive in February, so we're busy adhering an accent wall with wallpaper, painting the rest of the room, deciding on wall art and prints and of course, deciding on details! Trust me, you all will get the full 'before and after' specifics after all is said and done, but for now, I have to share with you the bargains I recently stumbled upon!

I've had my eye for a while on this beautiful starburst that I had hoped to showcase on my vanity dresser or side-table. I had seen it in magazines, on blogs and on my favorite Instagram posts for the past season but when I finally dug around and found it on Waiting on Martha for the hefty price of $155, I began to sulk.
Starburst Statue $155
The price point wasn't worth it for me. Sure, it's adorable in every way but an accessory piece like this shouldn't break the bank. But then I stumbled up on this little guy on CLEARANCE from Target. TARGET!!!
Starburst Figural $11.98
I had completely overlooked the mega store as a 'go-to' for home decor! So of course when I was all sour over the fact that this gorgeous antler sculpture from Clayton Gray Home came with a whopping price tag of $465, I turned to Target.

Gareth Sculpture $465
Low and behold, another amazing deal! Another purchase on clearance!

Stag Head Tabletop Figural $17.48
I tend to get into a routine when it comes to my online shopping. I hit a comfort point with the same websites and have gotten hung up in the same stores without realizing the options outside of that realm. I always knew Target had great options for jewelry and clothing but I'm even more pleasantly surprised that I can now add them as a go-to home decor source!
